Yea, word to NESBA for mounting/balancing. Even if ya do get yoru tires elsewhere, NESBA charg $20 a tire to mount/balance. BUT KEEP THIS IN MIND. This being your first trackday, you will have a TON going through your mind. Are tires really what you want to worry about? And if they are, are you really going to have the time to get them changed by 815? Derek opens at 6am, and he is quick, but it is alot for your first day.
Typical NESBA trackday schedule: 7am - Tech and Registration 8am - Tech/registration closes 815(ish) - Riders Meeting 830(ish) - Intermediate/Beginners continuation of meeting 9am - Advanced hits the track, while Beginners/first timers have a more indepth meeting. 940am - Beginners hit the track Usually, the riders/beginners meeting goes til 915-930. Being your first time at the track, you will benefit from this meeting (also, it is manditory). So, unless you plan on getting there the night before, have your wheels off the night before, and get up at 6am when Derek opens shop....I would suggest making a decision before you get to the track. Granted, I will help ya out with changing them that day (and so would a bunch of other NESBIANS), but I remember my first trckday and it felt like time flew by in the morning. though nowadays, i just stroll on up to registration and lolligag up to tech...

I'm going to go ahead and plan on blasting the snot out of my stock tires in beween now and early May and put new ones on just before trackday. I'm not sure if my wife can make it until trackday with hers or not, but she will have good treads on for that day none-the-less. Her safety is more important to me than mine. |
